Work

Software built around real problems.

A small collection of independent products and team projects. Some are useful experiments, some are still evolving, and each one taught me something worth carrying into the next build.

PhysioAgent application preview

Independent project · Experimental MVP

PhysioAgent

An AI-assisted tool for creating structured home exercise programmes, built from a problem I understood from my previous work in physiotherapy.

  • React
  • Node.js
  • Express
  • DeepSeek API
  • Supabase
  • YouTube API

The problem

Creating a useful exercise programme can involve repetitive work: selecting exercises, writing clear instructions and preparing something that can be shared with a patient.

The approach

I built a chat-style workflow that generates a structured programme, adds exercise videos and creates a PDF that can be previewed and shared.

Independent project · AI learning prototype

MyTutor

A full-stack learning application that turns an open-ended goal into a structured learning mission with objectives, resources, lessons, practice, feedback and progress tracking.

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • FastAPI
  • Python
  • SQLite
  • Docker

The problem

General-purpose AI chat tools can explain a topic, but they do not naturally provide a structured learning path or track evidence of progress over time.

The approach

I built a Next.js frontend and FastAPI backend with planning, resource curation, lesson generation and evaluation workflows. I also added mock providers, Docker support and evaluation scripts for testing workflow behaviour and lesson quality.

Team project · National AI Challenge winner

LibertyLumen

A household energy tool created with a team of engineers for Ireland's National AI Challenge.

  • Applied AI
  • Machine learning
  • Data visualisation

The problem

Energy usage and plan information can be difficult to interpret when you are trying to understand where your household could make changes.

The approach

The project lets people add home energy information, explore their usage and compare plans using machine learning and AI-assisted recommendations.

GAA Online CoachBoard interface

Independent project

GAA Online CoachBoard

A simple online tactics board for planning and explaining GAA drills and match situations.

  • React
  • JavaScript

The problem

Coaches need a quick visual way to move players around a pitch and communicate an idea without specialist software.

The approach

I built a focused browser-based board with React, keeping the interaction direct and the interface deliberately simple.

Professional work

Liberty IT

Associate Software Engineer · Galway

My day-to-day work spans production software engineering, backend and frontend development, integrations and applied AI. I work with technologies including React, TypeScript, Python, NestJS, GraphQL and AWS.

I've also contributed to AI workshops, hackathons, technical presentations and practical AI adoption initiatives. Employer work stays intentionally high-level here: this site is for public work and lessons I can share responsibly.
